Police raid Raleigh business suspected of counterfeit merchandise

A Raleigh business suspected of selling counterfeit merchandise was raided this week, police said.

Officers raided Messiah Fashion 2, 1030 Rogers Lane, on Wednesday. Police seized dozens of counterfeit goods, with trademarks including Nike, Polo and Prada.

Investigators say the business owner was selling the merchandise out of a back room.

No other information was available.

I hate fake stuff, but the authorities need to leave these people who sell this stuff alone. They're not making anyone buy it and it's not like they're making the stuff themselves. No one wants to tackle the real problem here.........China!!

Ok so lets leave these guys alone so they can continue to contribute to the recession. Do you think they pay taxes on this stuff? For every customer that buys a counterfeit item the real businesses lose a customer and money! I understand that some people out there need a brand name to define who they are but what they do not realize is that the fake items help fund numerous enemies of our country. Do some research about this topic then make a comment. Most of these counterfeit items, like the Jordans, are made in China; other items are made in countries like Aghanistan, Pakistan etc... So keep buying those products while shouting your support for our troops, as you oppose the war, yet you fund the enemy! God bless America! If you were in

No. What they are doing is stealing someone's brand recognition. They may use questionable labor practices but their brand is something they need to protect.
