Former volleyball coach indicted on indecent liberties charges

Raleigh, N.C. — A  grand jury indicted John Peter Skatrud Tuesday on two counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of indecent liberties with a student.

Skatrud coached at North Carolina State University from March 2, 2001, to Jan. 15, 2004, and more recently for the Capital City Volleyball Club. At the time of his arrest last month, he was working as a physical education teacher at Yates Mill Elementary School.

Unfortunatley most of the responders on this board don't have a clue of what they are talking about in this case. You don't know the nature of the charges and you cannot seem to understand that this case has nothing to do with the volleyball players.

Taxes are increased always proclaiming –It is for the children. Yes, we are doing this for the children are phrases used to get people upset and sponsor some program that need financing. But the truth is government does not care about children. If they cared, laws would be very strict to protect the children against sex deviants. This man should be in prison for at least fifty years.

IT IS SO SAD HOW MANY MEN ON THIS BOARD AGREES WITH WHAT THIS COACH DID. MANY OF YOU MEN NEED TO SEEK COUSELING BEFORE YOU FIND YOURSELF IN THE SAME BOAT AS THIS MAN.

You see that is the kind of thing sir that you should not be looking at. Hey, would you want this pervert of a man looking at YOUR DAUGHTER? Hummmmm I don't think so. Well no father do for that matter. So change your attitude on looking at these young girls. Thanks.

This man going after a young lady that is old enough to be her father. How sick is that? If I were her mother and father, I would see that this man if put away for 60 years in prison. Meanwhile they need to get some serious counseling for their daughter.

Now I believe NO MAN should ever be coaching a girls team of any kind not unless there is a female adult present at all times.
