'Major' heroin ring in Fayetteville area broken up

Fayetteville, N.C. — Three Cumberland County residents were arrested Tuesday following a six-month investigation into what authorities called a "major" heroin distribution ring.

Michael Strickland McNatt, 35, Reggie Lamar Raynor, 38, and Michella Rena McNeill, 37, were charged with trafficking in heroin.

Cumberland County deputies, Fayetteville police officers, agents with the State Bureau of Investigation and the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control and Cumberland County code enforcement officers participated in the investigation.

Undercover agents raided homes at 3409, 3485 and 3491 Sanderosa Road and seized more than 3,000 doses of heroin, with an estimated street value of more than $300,000. Moonshine, handguns, video poker machines, marijuana and a stolen utility trailer also were confiscated.

Police also raided a variety thrift shop at 4443 Cumberland Road and a home at 6913 Arden St. in the investigation.

McNatt was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $100,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to make a first court appearance at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Detention Center Courtroom.

Raynor was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $240,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to make a first court appearance at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Detention Center Courtroom.

Authorities have not released details about McNeill's bond or court date.

Please folks, the police are doing their jobs! How many times are we told "I was just speeding, why don't you do anything about those drug dealers?"

GUESS WHAT, THEY GOT THE DRUG DEALERS AND THERE ARE STILL COMPLAINTS.

The police do their jobs of catching the criminals, don't mistake that for what the courts do and let them back out.

so lets get this straight we have one of the guys with a 100,000 bond and another with a 240,000 bond....now i feel like this was a bad thing drugs ruin our children and cause them to make poor choices...with that being said i am so very disappointed in the judical system ...you can get caught with drugs and have a HUGE bond..but you can sell your child for prostitution and recieve a 51,000 bond and of all things ACTUALLY make bond..i still cant understand why we as tax payers have to pay for all of the methods to cath these criminals and with in a few days they are back on the street anyways...
