Wake Forest, N.C. — A Wake Forest man pleaded guilty Wednesday to getting prescriptions from more than 100 doctors and defrauding Medicare of more than $45,000.
Steven Thompson, 43, pleaded guilty to health care fraud and could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
"Drug abuse through prescribed medications is a growing concern for our nation," U.S. Attorney George E.B. Holding said in a release. "We must remain vigilant in order to stop this growing form of drug abuse and the fraudulent methods used to further burden our already taxed government health care system."
Prosecutors said that Thompson, who is disabled, enrolled in Medicare to pay for his prescription medications. Between January 2006 and 2008, he used at least 104 doctors to obtain 282 prescriptions, which he filled at more than 20 pharmacies.

People with VA and medicare/cade on most surveys are happier with their healthcare than private insured people. 60% to 40%
But some people dont need the facts.... just their daily dose of Rush and Beck.
Think for yourselves people.

Exactly. Part D is a part of Medicare. One can purchase different plans that will deal with that part alone, or the plan can administer the whole of Medicare. Works pretty good right now. Will be a different story if a law I'm praying won't pass does pass. And it will be for the worse.
