A Raleigh man faces numerous criminal charges after, Wendell authorities say, he led police on a pursuit through Wendell and onto Interstate 540 in Raleigh Monday.

Wendell police said officers responded to calls about a blue pickup truck running other vehicles off the road shortly before 11:30 a.m. Police said the pickup truck driver backed into a silver Honda driven by a woman and then rammed it with the front of his truck.

When officers attempted to stop a truck matching that description, the driver – identified by police as Matthew Draper, 24, of 3020 Allenby Drive in Raleigh – fled. He led officers to Smithfield Road, then to U.S. Highway 64 before going onto westbound Interstate 540, police said.

That's when the North Carolina Highway Patrol and Wake County Sheriff's Office joined in the pursuit. At one point, about a dozen law enforcement vehicles were following the vehicle along I-540.

Draper then led authorities off the Buffaloe Road exit and to his home where the chase ended, authorities said.

Draper is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, felony speeding to elude police, misdemeanor hit-and-run, careless and reckless driving, driving left of the center line, illegal passing and running a stop sign.

I know him also...you couldnt have said that better indoorzombie...

What does the photo displayed have to do with this story? I don't see a blue Ford truck.

DUMB

I know him personally and he really is a good guy, people just loose it sometimes i guess.

I went to HS with this guy and I am fairly certain that he is not 100% functional. He was extremely nice and not a "bad" guy at all....but still not mentally up to par
