Cumberland County warns of vehicle break-ins

e-mail print friendly

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office alerted residents after nine vehicles were broken into in the Parkton and Muscat roads area of Hope Mills over the weekend.

Investigators said that vandals are shattering car windows and taking small valuables from inside. The missing items include coins, iPods and backpacks.

Authorities urged residents along the one-mile stretch to keep their vehicles locked and any items of value hidden from view. Any suspicious activity should be reported to authorities immediately.

Anyone with information regarding vehicle break-ins in this area should call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500 or 910-484-8477.

The authorities urge people to lock their cars. Its seems to me that the reason the car windows were broken was because the cars were locked!

Perhaps the authorities should tell people to leave their cars unlocked so the car winows will not be broken...well, just a thought!

I'm not sure why authorities are telling people to "Lock thier doors".....didn't sound like a lock was doing much good.

How about some warnings in Fuquay/Willow Springs?? Two nights ago, a bunch of cars were broken into there.
