Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County Schools has reassigned an elementary school principal who was charged last summer with inappropriately touching a child.
Ronald Thomas Parker, 59, was moved from Eastover-Central Elementary School to a job at the school district's operations center, officials said Friday.
Parker was charged in June with statutory sex offense and taking indecent liberties with a child.
Authorities said he allegedly touched a 3-year-old girl in his Asbury Road home in late May. There were no allegations against Parker involving students at his former school, authorities said.

If there is any chance that he did this than why was he reassigned?? Shouldn't he be suspended or something (with or without pay)?? It seems to me that if he does have charges pending or an ongoing investigation than he shouldn't be around other children!!!
