Man killed in Harnett wreck

e-mail print friendly

State troopers said that a 20-year-old man died in a single-vehicle wreck on Rawls Church Road, about 4 miles west of Angier, Wednesday evening.

Troopers said that around 6:15 p.m., an eastbound vehicle ran off the road, and the driver over-corrected, causing the vehicle to cross the center line, spin around and hit a bridge rail.

Christopher Mark Searcy, of Willow Springs, died, troopers said. Searcy was riding in the front passenger seat.

The name and condition of the driver haven't been released.

Plz be in pray for these families...this was truly an accident, Bull's family needs our prays and so does the Porter family.

Regardless of where it happened or how it happened Chris "bull" was a nice young man and a very close friend of my family - Ya'll will hear more as the days proceed but I will always remember him at 10 or 11 pulling up to my Dad's place and getting out of the truck and hooking his thumbs in his pockets as he talked to dad about the tobacco and soy beans or fishing in the pond and running to show my mom the big bass he caught -

I'm asking that just for once, keep your self-serving, holier than thou mean comments in check out of respect for his family and many, many friends -

I know that many of you will disregard this request and attack me for daring to ask it so I simply suggest you pray tonight and thank what ever higher power you believe in that it wasn't your son, father, husband, close friend, relative OR YOU that this happened to - we are all human and make mistakes and some pay the ultimate price leaving a devestated family and community -

Another death because a bad driver ran off the road.

I never heard of gravel shoulders. What's it about?

very sad, the bridge is next to our property, its a dangerous road with low shoulders and curves and steep hill, its not the first accident down there and I am sure it won't be the last one to end tragically. Prayers for the families of these kids.
