Airman from Knightdale killed in Afghanistan

An Airman from Knightdale died Tuesday in Afghanistan of wounds inflicted by an improvised explosive device, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Tech. Sgt. Adam K. Ginett, 29, died near Kandahar Air Field. A 1998 graduate of East Wake High School, he was assigned to the 31st Civil Engineer Squadron at Aviano Air Base in Italy.

Ginett worked in explosive ordinance disposal and was a master sniper.

Ginett was a 1998 graduate of East Wake High School and lived in Knightdale before joining the Air Force at age 18, according to his obituary. His parents, James and Christina Kazakavage, and sister, Sarah Kazakavage, live in Coats.

Ginett served three tours in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan, his obituary says. He earned the Bronze Star on his first tour in Afghanistan.

He held two bachelor's degrees and a master's degree in criminal justice and political science, according to the obituary.

Please do a search on his name. I notice that he served at Shaw AFB and receieved a Bronz Star. Nothing about how extrodinary this man was did WRAL cover. May his family know that we thank him for his courage and them for raising such a wounderful person.

thoughts and prayers to the family of this American Hero! I will never forgot the sacrifice he's made for our country. We owe it to these soldiers to honor them in every way possible for the thankless work they are doing.
