WRAL News

Robeson County sheriff's officials are trying to figure out who dug up a woman's grave in the 1100 block of Crawford Road.

Authorities found the desecrated grave, which is in a private, family-owned cemetery, around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities did not release the woman's name.

The top of the casket was removed, leaving the woman's body and the rest of her casket exposed, authorities said.

Family members and funeral home officials were working to fix the grave.

The FBI is assisting the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation. Anyone with information should call 910-671-3100.

I doubt that they were just "looking" for something, more than likely they knew exactly what they were looking for having seen it in the coffin during the funeral ceremony. If I were a betting man I'd bet it will turn out that someone either of the family, extended family or (supposedly) friend that is the grave digger. Time will tell.

My family fills in the grave with concrete to prevent grave tampering.

Unfortunately a lot of people dig up Indian mounds or graves...not much difference.

Hope the deceased can come back to haunt these individuals! Payback stinks!

jprime....GREAT QUESTION!
