Marine sergeant arrested on child sex charge

Camp Lejeune, N.C. — Onslow County sheriff's deputies arrested a Marine sergeant stationed at Camp Lejeune Wednesday on charges that he sexually abused a child.

Sgt. Duane F. Bachesta, 26, of St. Clair, Ill., faces charges of indecent liberties with a child and sexual battery.

Bachesta is an imagery analyst assigned to 2nd Intelligence Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force.

He joined the Marine Corps in March 2002 and deployed to Afghanistan from March to November 2008. He was promoted to sergeant in September 2008.

Cornfused, Semper Fi to your father. As a Marine, this is inexcusable. Yes, we are human and make the same mistakes mortal people make, but we do hold ourselves to a higher standard. No doubt if found guilty, he will lose his title. We pride ourselves on honor; this man has none.

bronzegoddess, what do you expect people to say? It's always the same comments: men this, men that, poor child, what's wrong with people, I hope they castrate him, I'd like to punish him, etc. etc. There, now I saved a bunch of people some time today.

tHE FEW THE prOUD... HE GIVES MARINES EVERYWHERE A BAD WRAP EVEN THOUGH THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS MILITARY STATUS, THE HEADLINE SAYS IT ALL "Marine sergeant arrested on child sex charge..." AND TO BE HONEST, THAT IS WHAT DREW MY ATTENTION TO THE STORY, my Daddy always stood proudly and said, Once a Marine always a Marine, but I believe this man now has lost the title of Marine!
