Tattoo on body found in Kerr Lake
Tattoo on body found in Kerr Lake

The sheriff's office in Mecklenburg County, Va., is asking for help in identifying the body of a man found floating in Kerr Lake Saturday.

The body appears to be that of a white man between the ages of 35 and 50, authorities said. He was wearing blue jeans, a canvas belt and a pair of black Nike tennis shoes. The man has a distinctive tattoo on his right shoulder. The tattoo shows the head of a Doberman Pinscher, the word “capone” and the numbers "2-14-92."

The sheriff's office is treating the case as a homicide. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's office in Richmond for an autopsy.

Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office at 888-624-2207 or 434-738-6171 or Mecklenburg County Crime Solvers at 877-676-8477.

maybe the numbers tattood on him are his birth day ..

TO DEATHROW--- just b/c you have a tattoo dont mean you are living a illegal life of a drug user. My husband has tattoo of roses on his arm with our daughters name on it, and he dont use drug and has no criminal record, and his brother has tattoo of this mother's face and he too is not a drug user or have a criminal history. Maybe deathrow is were you need to be. I hope they find this man's family, such a terrible thing to find out about a love one here at the holidays. God Bless.

The article states that they are treating this as a homocide. There must be something that they have not divulged. I would think that the medical examiner has seen something to make him/her come to the conclusion that it's a homocide and not just someone who fell off a boat or dock. There may be a hole in the victim that would indicate someone else was involved.

Just playing the statistics. You will be right more often than you're wrong. Argue if you want, but it works.

Wow Deathrow.....that's a whole lot of assumptions! Are you saying law abiding people and people that have a loving family never drown...or, go missing? The article didn't say how long the body had been in the water. Maybe his family lives out of state... maybe someone did report him missing...but, in a different county. The only thing the tattoo says to me is that he probably lost a pet that cared deeply for! I hope they find his family soon!!
