Police arrested Hubert Anthony Best, 51, of 922-A4 Bryan Place, Monday and charged him with robbery with a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.

The victim in the case told police that he was walking home after his car broke down and he was approached by an unknown man. The man displayed a handgun and forced him to go to nearby Bryan Woods Apartments, 922-A4 Bryan Place, he told police.

At the apartment, the victim said a second suspect, later identified as Best, also displayed a handgun. The victim said once at the apartment, he was robbed of his wallet and threatened with retaliation if he reported it to police. The victim did report it to police after being released unharmed, authorities said.

Police obtained a search warrant and found Best inside the apartment during the search. Investigators recovered a stolen handgun in the apartment, which was believed to have been used during the robbery.

Garner detectives are trying to identify and arrest the other suspect in the incident. He is described as a black man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds. The man had black hair in corn rows and was wearing a grey tank top and blue jeans. He was armed with a silver revolver, police said.

If anyone has information, they are urged to contact police at 919-772-8810.
