U.S. Attorney George E.B. Holding announced sentences Friday for five men who were part of a "major drug conspiracy in and around Halifax County," according to the sheriff's office.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office and Nash County Sheriff’s Office cooperated in the investigation, called Operation Burnout, to target multi-level distributors of cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana.

Four of the five men sentenced Friday delivered drugs to individuals cooperating with law enforcement, authorities said.

They are: Elton Boone, 48, and Reco Larue Johnson, 34, both of Roanoke Rapids, Alfreddie Roberson, 38, of Goldsboro, and Lester (aka Shawn) Cobbs, 36, of Wake County.

Kenyatta Sykes, 30, of Roanoke Rapids, was captured on video distributing crack cocaine, authorities said.

Each man was sentenced to more than 200 months in prison.
