The Board of Trustees at North Carolina State University agreed Friday to raise tuition across the board, a spokesman said.
In-state undergraduate students will see an increase of 3.79 percent, or about $150; out-of-state undergrads would pay $200 more – a 1.22 percent increase.
The UNC Board of Governors and the General Assembly must approve the recommendation.

On a different note about this story, it is slightly misleading. The tuition increase that they voted for is a campus initiated tuition increase (CITI). The Board is hoping that this will replace a $200 "tax" that was mandated by the State Legislature this past year. The State Legislature approved a $200 tuition increase on every in-state student in a UNC School, but none of that will go back to the schools. It will instead be used to balance the state's budget. The BOT approved this CITI hoping that when the legislataure reconvenes next year, they will replace the "tax" with the CITI so that at least half of the money will come back to the Universities.

The money for that stuff does not come from Tuition and Fees.
