Rocky Mount, N.C. — Rocky Mount police are searching for two suspects involved in a shooting in front of 417 Villa Street Thursday.
Gary Beaver, 47, was walking from Chester Street to Villa Street when he was approached by two unknown black men. The suspects shot Beaver multiple times in his legs, back and neck.
The motive of the shooting is unknown, authorities said.
Beaver was taken to Nash General Hospital and was listed in crucial condition Thursday night.
One suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and the other was in a black T-shirt.

Being proud of the past doesn't mean you can't be ashamed and frightened of the present state the city is in. It is more like Gotham city than the thriving town you describe these days.
Rocky Mount needs new leadership and a serious, objective, review of its public services. Until ALL of the people who live there stop looking at race as a criteria for votes and policy decisions, that will not likely happen.
