SBI investigating Person County DA

Roxboro, N.C. — The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into undisclosed issues involving Person County District Attorney Joel Brewer, authorities said.

Brewer said Monday that he is cooperating with the SBI in an inquiry of "mutual interest," but neither he nor the SBI would release details of the investigation, including who requested the probe.

“We are absolutely cooperating fully with this, and we want to get to the bottom of this as soon as we can,” Brewer said.

That is a law which needs to be changed. Police investigate average citizen and the details are plastered all over the news media. If a cop or D.A. is involved, the SBI is always called in. Gives the appearance of white washing their behavior. Cop after cop who shoots unarmed persons are "cleared" by the SBI's secret investigation. If the shootings are actually justifiable, reports with all details should be released. There is nothing "special" about SBI agents. They call themselves "special agents" in an attempt to convince jurors their credibility is something more than it actually is. What a farce!

And your not going to get one! SBI files are confidential by state law until the DA or Attorney General decides they want to release it.
