Jeffrey Lloyd - mug shot 11/6/09 - Man arrested in break-in, laptop theft

Halifax County sheriff's deputies arrested a man Friday after a laptop computer was stolen during a break-in in Scotland Neck earlier in the week.

Deputies said that Jeffery Lloyd, 25, of 111 Captains Road, confessed to breaking into 1292 Edwards Fork Road on Tuesday. Lloyd said the laptop was hidden near a shed outside his home.

Deputies found the laptop and returned it to its owner.

Lloyd was charged with two counts of felony breaking-and-entering and one count each of larceny after breaking-and-entering, injury to real property, possession of stolen goods and resisting a public officer.

He was being held in the Halifax County Jail under a $10,000 bond. His first court date was set for Dec. 16.

According to state Department of Records, Lloyd has served sentences of probation convictions for larceny, misdemeanor indecent exposure and assault on a female.
