Apex, N.C. — A truck overturned and spilled tar on N.C. Highway 55 south near U.S. 1 in Apex Friday morning. The crash caused two of three lanes to be blocked for more than three hours, authorities said.
Capt. Ann Stephens, spokeswoman for Apex police, said the load inside the truck shifted, causing the truck to tip. No other vehicles were involved.
Driver Estobon Garcia Perez was unhurt, Stephens said.

How remember when Highway 55 was at one time a narrow two lane road that stretch from Durham into Fuquay Varina? I do. I remember the intersection of Highway 64 and Highway 55 had a stop sign there before they put a bridge there and cause a mess of headaches going into Apex.
