Something desperately needs to be done regarding these "Silver Alerts". It is a very valid and necessary tool used, primarily, by law enforcement to alert agencies for missing individuals that are "believed to be suffering from some form of cognitive impairment". Originally intended for Alzheimers patients, etc. Requirements/standards need to be set. For instance, it should be required that the TYPE of "cognitive impairment" should be listed. It is a safety issue.
