I understand what the town is trying to do with Halloween. CH has absolutely no obligation to make it easy for out-of-towners to attend Halloween. The students and other residents make for a large enough crowd and the economic gains of the event are minimal since most non-bar businesses close early and most bars are crowded to the point of diminishing returns. Why should the town use even more resources to support bus loads of people with no connection to the community (and therefore no obligation to uphold community standards)? At least when locals puke on the side walk they are contributing to the tax dollars used to clean it up. That said, Kevin Foy has done a terrible job of explaining the decision to the rest of the state. The town should have put a little more thought into how the presented the Halloween management plan.

Ooh, whatever will Chapel Hill do without Journey985 and prez23062 and all the money they used to spend on their many trips to town. Poor Chapel Hill, better get the For Sale sign ready because the whole town is going out of business.

i will have to agree. if i was not welcome at one time during the year i don't consider myself welcome at any other time. i won't refrain from going to the unc games, but i will not be spending any money anywhere outside the venue as long as its considered CH.

Wow, nine votes and no comments? I did as the town leaders asked, I stayed away, But I will also be staying away for any other funtion that might be taking place in Chapel Hill, if they don't want my money or presence for the Halloween Bash, then there is no need for me to spend my time or money in Chapel Hill any other time. Sorry for the student and hope that they are ok!!!
