Raleigh police arrested a registered sex offender on first-degree rape charges Monday.

Donald Wesley Currin Jr., 33, of 7200 Sunset View Court in Willow Spring, offered a woman a ride, then took her to a construction site in the 2500 block of South Saunders Street where he raped her at knife point, according to Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

Police have not yet said when the alleged assault took place.

According to state Department of Correction records, Currin has a long list of past offenses, including assault on a woman. The North Carolina Sex Offender Registry lists Currin as being convicted earlier this year of kidnapping a minor.

He was being held in the Wake County Jail under a $1 million bond.

Anyone involved in sentencing this guy ever heard this term?

You can't bother the DA with this, he's busy keeping that guy in jail who has always claimed he's innocent and someone has confessed to that crime. Just sayin'

Seriously. Our Country needs to be more like Iran. We need a government like the Taliban. Cut off your hand if you steal. Stone the women who won't wear a face mask at all times. Jeremiah

That my dear, is very inhuman. You would not want that to happen to you, so why even comment like that. In the United States of America, that will never happen. Thank God for that!

"Why not do like other countries in the world - public canings / lynchings at high noon in the town square. Victims and families get first crack. Televise it... especially on this big screen TVs they have in prison."

60 years in prison without parole. In prison they will teach him a valuable lesson that he wished he was not there. lol
