Holly Springs, N.C. — An Apex woman died Sunday night after her car wrecked north of Holly Springs.
Cynthia Ellerbee, 43, was speeding on Stevenson Road when she lost control of her vehicle shortly before 10 p.m, state troopers said. The car ran off the right side of the road and crashed into a tree.
Ellerbee’s 7-year-old son, Trevion Tillage, suffered critical injuries and was being treated at WakeMed, troopers said.
Neither Ellerbee nor her son was wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
