The Barrel Monster is Back!
The Barrel Monster is Back!

The "Barrel Monster" has returned to Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, this time holding hands with "Mrs. Barrel Monster."

Ed Funkhouser, a professor of communication at North Carolina State University, captured the lovely couple overlooking the street scene and the campus from the rooftop at 2526 Hillsborough St. on Wednesday.

Skywatch, maybe some people need a smile in their day, you know, take a break from all the horror in the world and appreciate some local humor. You need some cognac with your coffee, my friend.

No worries, Stefany ...you, me and others are able to have a sense of humor. :)

I love those barrel monsters, too ...hence my post comment from yesterday here, "Fell head over barrels for her!" :)

Wow, I guess I am the only one (so go ahead and start throwing insults my way) that thinks this is a sad commentary on our society. With all the major events that take place in the world, all the crime, starvation, genocide, etc. only in America would there be a news story about traffic barrels made into monsters and people care enough to sit around and talk about how great it is. Really sad that our society is so shallow.

And you're not being insulting to others ...?

Capitals Fan, I would ask why you even bother to comment on such a "shallow" story yourself? I understand what you're saying; but, honestly I think you should just lighten up. We can't be serious and "deep" all of the time.

Do you feel guilty if someone tells a joke and you laugh? That joke likely didn't solve world issues, it didn't feed the poor, etc. It made your day better even if only for a few moments. That's the point I don't think anyone is saying this is high art and worth of The Louvre.

Capitals Fan, not all of society likes to dwell on the doom and gloom 100% of the time
