A 28-year-old Cary man was arrested Monday after allegedly harassing police officers.

William Baker, of 500 N. Benson Court, was charged with disorderly contact, resisting police officers and making harassing phone calls.

According to the arrest warrant, the charges stem from an incident at Baker’s home earlier in the day.

After police arrived at the residence to investigate a possible domestic violence call, Baker used offensive language and gestures to try and intimidate the officers, the warrant stated.

After the incident, he repeatedly made harassing phone calls to the Cary 911 center, the warrant stated.

Baker was being held Monday in the Wake County Jail under a $5,000 bond.

copforlife, I was wondering about that too. I couldn't tell if he was trying to imitate, intimidate, or get intimate with the officers.

It sounds like the officers took no action toward him while they were on the scene. I'm sure he's not the first to run his mouth at a domestic and be a jerk anyway. Where this guy got in trouble was when he started calling 911 for no other reason than to harrass the cops and continue the argument. Calling 911 for any reason other than an emergency is usually met with zero tolerance by police. Has to or everyone would clog up 911 with this type of junk. Good job cops!

itls - yes, Cary should allow repeated, harrassing phone calls to their 911 number. I mean, that is what the 911 number is for in the 'real' cities.... uh.... yeah... right...

Wow, Cary officers have pretty thin skins. I hope they never have to work in a real city.

LOL, trying to intimate the officers should have been grounds for immediate arrest!
