Roderick Sanders, 24, of Wake County, is accused of trying to kill Shyona Perry on Sept. 11 by setting her on fire, according to an arrest warrant.

Authorities haven't released a motive for the attack or disclosed the relationship between Sanders and the victim.

Sanders was charged with attempted murder. He was being held Wednesday at the Wake County Jail under a $2 million bond. His first court appearance was set for Thursday afternoon.

According to state Department of Correction records, Sanders has been convicted selling drugs and larceny in Wake County. Court records show that he has also been charged with armed robbery and several assault charges.

People seem to be getting more violent and evil every day

Roe is right - especially if there is a gun involved! The Feds can lock you up forever and make you pay big fines. Plus they can send you to a prison far from your friends and family so you just sit and rot with no visitors. These thugs need a real lesson - they have played our NC Criminal Injustice System so far - the bleeding heart liberals think they should be free because it was not their fault that they committed crimes - it was all society's fault. Hocus Pocus - you are responsible for your acts and you must be punished for your bad acts.

i agree TBK- put down the lifers...they'r ewasting space and tax payers money.

Give him the needle -

And yet he was still on the street. sigh

Praying for the woman and praying someone gets the sense to keep this beast off the streets permanently.

God bless.
