Ex-state employee suing for alleged sexual harassment

e-mail print friendly

A former state employee says she was sexually harassed on the job and is now suing for damages.

Angela Walton is suing the Department of Agriculture and her former co-worker, Robert Brogden, according to court documents.

Walton said Brogden exposed himself and rubbed his genitals on her neck when they worked together in 2007.

A conference was held in federal court Tuesday. Department of Agriculture officials said they investigated immediately and want the case dismissed.

Neither Walton or Brogden still work for the department.

There was no attack and there was no sexual contact. When Mr.Brogden is fully exonerated, I hope WRAL will report it.

why are we only talking about sexual harassment. This is a criminal ATTACK. He made sexual contact with her body & exposed himself. This falls under INDECENT ASSAULT & BATTERY

I do not doubt the timeline at all. In addition, I know of someone that was sexually harassed as a state employee. It would not happen to someone like me that would completely take pictures of them and freak out. However, there are docile people that are afriad. They get taken advantage of very easily. The state needs to protect people. Simple cameras would do it.

I work for the state too....if any of my coworkers did that to me..it would not take me over two years to say something....I smell a rat.

It's sad to know that a female state employee is afraid to report sexual harassment for fear of losing their job. Whistle blowers get treated in the most common ways.
