Pittsboro, N.C. — Chatham County investigators are looking into a suspicious fire Tuesday at a mobile home at 638 Mitchells Chapel Road, just west of Pittsboro.
A passing motorist called in the fire just before 4 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames. After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters located the body of a Hispanic man.
Authorities are trying to identify the man and said they consider the fire suspicious.
The body will be transported to the state medical examiner's office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.
