Cary, N.C. — Police charged a Cary father with child abuse Friday after they determined he was driving drunk with his 8-year-old daughter in the car.
According to court documents, witnesses called police when they saw the girl sitting in a parked car crying. The child told police she had to shift the car into gear because her father, Steven Sean Black, 37, was too drunk to drive, the arrest warrant said.
Black was being held at the Wake County jail on $1,000 secured bond pending a Monday court appearance.
