Knightdale, N.C. — A driver has been charged with driving while impaired and careless and reckless driving after a passenger was thrown from the bed of a pickup truck late Friday, police said Monday.
A juvenile was found lying in the middle of Onyx Lane in the Emerald Point subdivision at about 10:20 p.m. Friday, police said. The juvenile was taken to WakeMed and was listed in critical condition Monday, police said.
Police said they were withholding the names of the driver, the victim and two others in the pickup at the time of the incident because they are all juveniles.
The incident remains under investigation.

The problem here is not that someone road in the back of a pickup, its that someone was driving while impaired and wrecklessly.
