Wilsons Mill — A bullet struck a pregnant woman in the head during a drive-by shooting at a Wilsons Mills house early Sunday, police Lt. Robert Markell said.
Seven people, all age 17 or older, were sleeping at 128 Clearwater Drive when someone fired at the single-story house around 4:30 a.m., Markell said. A bullet struck Lekishia Liles, 28, who was in the front bedroom, he said.
Liles, who is 7 months pregnant, was transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital in Clayton. Her injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, Markell said.
Investigators found four small-caliber bullet holes in the front of the house.
Markell said investigators are looking at the possibility that the shooting was drug- or gang-related. There were no witnesses to the shooting, so police do not have suspect or vehicle descriptions.
