Rougemont, N.C. — A Rougemont man was killed Saturday evening in a domestic dispute, Person County Sheriff Dewey Jones said Monday.
Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute at 255 Bass Farm Road at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday and found that Chadwick Abernathy, 33, had been fatally shot, Jones said.
Benji Blackwell, 35, who Jones said had an on-and-off romantic relationship with Abernathy, was charged with murder in his death. She was being held without bond in the Person County Jail.
