Kenly police: Prank caller pretends to be officer

e-mail print friendly

Kenly police say someone has been prank calling residents and pretending to be an officer.

Police Chief Josh Gibson said the caller tells people that there is a warrant for their arrest.

Several residents have come to the police station to turn themselves in, he said. Others have called police to ask about the supposed warrants.

If you have any information about the prank caller or have received one of the calls, contact Kenly police at 919-284-2116.

Now this is funny, I gotta try this on my ex wife

You mean it's that easy to capture people with warrants out on them? You simply have to call them and let them know. Who knew?

This man should be given 20 years in prison. I hope the courts will do just that.

Reminds me of a prank where i used to call drug stores and pretend to be from nc state vet school and ask them to look and see if they can special order condoms for large farm animals.

This happened to my husband and the call comes from a private number. This is not only happening in the Kenly area because we live in a different county.
