Durham, N.C. — A car crashed into the side of a bridge on U.S. 150-501 shortly after midnight Saturday, knocking down the railing onto Cornwallis Road below, Durham police said.
The car knocked a 12-foot hole in railing, causing it to fall. The car stayed on the bridge, police said.
A state Department of Transportation crew worked through the night to repair the guardrail. A lane closure on U.S. 15-501, between Cornwallis Road and Martin Luther King Parkway, might cause some delays.
Repairs were expected to be completed Sunday morning.
