Five people injured in Johnston County wreck

The state Highway Patrol says an accident involving nine vehicles backed up traffic Sunday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, near Micro.

The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. near exit 102 when a vehicle slammed into the back of another, causing a chain reaction wreck.

Paramedics transported five people to Johnston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.

The cause of the wreck remained under investigation Sunday evening.
