Micro, N.C. — The state Highway Patrol says an accident involving nine vehicles backed up traffic Sunday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, near Micro.
The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. near exit 102 when a vehicle slammed into the back of another, causing a chain reaction wreck.
Paramedics transported five people to Johnston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.
The cause of the wreck remained under investigation Sunday evening.
