Vance County deputy shoots woman

Henderson, N.C. — A deputy shot a woman during an altercation Wednesday on Welcome Avenue in Henderson, according to Vance County Sheriff Peter White said.

The woman was shot in the shoulder and was taken to Maria Parham Medical Center for treatment.

The deputy was not hurt.

No additional information was available as the investigation was ongoing Wednesday evening.

she came out of the house with a gun when animal control officers arrived about a dog, so they called in the sheriff department and when the deputy told her to put the gun down or he will shoot, she pointed it towards them so he shot her in the shoulder. She was warned and didnt listen

care4critters... how pathetic you are,of course your friend was doing absolutley nothing wrong and the deputy just shot her.....I doubt that..people need to learn to respect the police..I am sure that she must have made some type of unexcusable threat toward this deputy or he would have never shot her..

The woman that was shot was a dear friend of mine's mother. It was NOT drug related, it was over a dog biting their neighbor and things getting way out of hand due to the police dealing with the situation poorly. But thanks for your ignorant input based on nothing other than socio-economic stereotypes.
