The Human Resources department at ConAgra Foods confirmed that the man killed in a wreck on N.C. Highway 42 and Rock Service Station Road Tuesday was an employee there.

James Junior Evans, 39, died when his motorcycle was involved in a crash with a concrete truck and a van, state troopers said.

Evans had been employed at ConAgra since 1989.

As an avid motorcyclist, I always try to be aware of my surroundings. As mentioned in an earlier post, keep your bike in 1st gear when stopped at lights. NEVER stop directly behind another vehicle. Stop either on the left, or right of the vehicle in front of you. That way, you can at least make an attempt to get out of the way if someone comes up behind you, and looks as if they are not going to stop. Give yourself an escape route at all times. Always be looking in your mirrors when stopped. Anticipate having to pull out on a red light, and constantly see your best escape (it will change as traffic arrives from all directions).

Reminds me of the Movie "Final Destination". Sad Story though.

Suicyciacles. Are just what they are. If you could hear the cro- tch rockets go by my my house on a back two lane road running at least 100.... I pulled one out of a cotton field. Hit so hard he cracked him helment. I pulled the shield up and got the cotton leaves out of his nose and mouth. Called 911 ... he made it best I understand.

Quit riding bikes on the road for this exact reason.

I am suprised that last comment made it on here. That was uncalled for...

To survive ConAgra just to be killed in a traffic accident. Makes you just wonder about life...
