Rocky Mount, N.C. — The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify remains found Monday afternoon.
A man working in a field found the skeletal remains in a wooded area off Seven Bridges Road, near Rocky Mount.
Authorities said they believe the remains are those of a small-framed, black woman.
No additional information was available Monday evening.
