Randy Bledsoe, charged with killing ex-wife's husband

Police arrested a Durham man Thursday in the death of his ex-wife's husband.

Randy Tyson Bledsoe, 51, of 2402 Redwood Road, was charged with murder and was being held without bond in the Durham County Jail.

Officers responding to a report of a shooting at 606 W. Markham Ave. shortly after 5 a.m. found Edward William Riddle, 44, dead in the basement of the residence, police said.

Investigators said Bledsoe kicked in a door at the residence and fatally shot Riddle, who was married to Bledsoe's ex-wife.

Hey people, a man died here today, can't we delay the arguing about what town has more murder until his children at least absorb that their father is dead. This guy was a friend long ago, and he has 3 children. He wasn't a superhero or anything, but his kids loved him. Let them grieve first. Please.

"tarheelbabe, are you saying that there are murders in Raleigh that aren't reported. I see far more murder stories in Durham than Raleigh. I think unicorporated Wake County may have more than Raleigh, but that is a guess, based on the stories that I read.-wa4mjf"

Please don't base your opinions on what you read in the news. There are far more murders in Raleigh than are reported. If all the violent crime that happens in Raleigh is reported in the media, then Raleigh would have the same rep as Durham. And that's bad for business.

"Raleigh has just as many if not more violent crime than Durham. I don't know who Durham officials have ticked off in the media but Raleigh is very violent crimes that are not broadcasted for whatever reason. So don't for a second think Raleigh is immune its crime just not reported as intensly as Durham. Some of you all are being fooled.-tarheelbabe"

You are entirely correct. Raleigh has much more crime than Durham. I can't tell you how many murders I've heard about that have never graced any of the local media outlets.

Durham has a higher per capita murder rate. Period.

Just going by the picture, I can't for the life of me understand why this guy's wife divorced him.

I have to say, I live in a total dump of an apartment complex in Raleigh off Glenwood, yet I haven't heard of a single shooting or murder or anything like what gets reported in Durham on the daily. But surely this is just selective reporting.
