Cary wreck

Cary police are investigating a single-car wreck that occurred Monday afternoon at the intersection of Green Level to Durham Road and Cary Glen Boulevard.

Three people – the driver and two passengers from a Lexus SUV – were taken to Duke University Hospital after the incident, police said. Their identities and conditions were not released.

Police think a beige van may have contributed to the wreck. Anyone with information is asked to call the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012.

I came out of the restaurant and heard the THUMPs as the SUV was flipping. I think it must have flipped three times but when I located the source of the thumps it had finally stopped. I didn't see any van but that may be because I focused on the SUV as I headed over to help with anything I could. Cars were also stopping to help so they reached the SUV before I did.

The entire scene still disturbs me, I saw the aftermath of the carnage and the injuries. The SUV left a trail of broken parts from the point where the young girl was ejected, it had to have been going very fast. The boy was safe in his child seat and someone had sat the injured mother down on the curb. When EMS arrived and started CPR on the other girl there was nothing else I could do. I still have that last sad image in my mind.

There is a youtube video I watched a couple weeks ago, called "Pay Attention When You Drive ! ! !" I suggest everyone find it and watch, its the way I feel after helping at this wreck.

Some of our family was involved in this "accident", if it can be called that. People that cause accidents and hit and run drivers should be held accountable. If you know who caused this accident please contact the police. My great-niece, Kailee, did not survive this accident. **Kailee, we love you and miss you. You are now sitting with God and can watch over all of us. ** All our love to you and your family. Tammy, Sam and Sammy.

I drive through that intersection daily. It needs a light or speed enforcement. People routinely travel at 55+ mph on Green Level to Durham Road.

I think hit and run drivers should be dealt with more severely. We were hit by a driver who sped off and the police do nothing! I hope everyone in the suv is ok.

Out there by my granny's old place.
