Site SearchLinden, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff's deputies on Thursday arrested a Linden man accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.
Investigators said that Danny Murchison, 41, of 528 Circle Drive, raped the victim on numerous occasions between April 2008 and June 2009. The girl eventually confided in her mother, investigators said.
Murchison faces 45 sex charges, including 15 counts each of first-degree rape of a child and taking indecent liberties with a child. He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $1.5 million secured bond.
According to state Department of Correction records, Murchison was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in 1991.
