Frank Reginol Gaddy faces charges felony speeding to elude arrest and assault with a deadly weapon for "intentionally attempting to cause the officer to crash his patrol vehicle," according to arrest warrants.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a man Monday after an early-morning pursuit that spanned Wake and Chatham counties.

Frank Reginol Gaddy, 32, of 6912 Redwood Lane in Raleigh, faces charges of felony speeding to elude arrest and assault with a deadly weapon for &quot;intentionally attempting to cause the officer to crash his patrol vehicle,&quot; according to arrest warrants.

The chase started shortly before 3 a.m., when police spotted Gaddy  in the vicinity of Buck Jones and Jones Franklin roads driving a car that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a shooting near WakeMed on New Bern Avenue. There were no reports of injuries in the shooting.

Multiple law enforcement agencies pursued Gaddy through Cary, back into Raleigh and into Holly Springs, police said. Authorities put down stop sticks on Old U.S. Highway 1, near the Chatham County line to stop him about an hour after the chase began.

The warrants allege Gaddy went 15 miles over the posted speed limit, was engaged in reckless driving and was driving with a revoked license.

Gaddy is being held in the Wake County Jail under a $25,000 bond.

According to Wake County court records, Gaddy has been arrested on nine charges dating to 2002, including reckless driving, speeding, DWI and failures to appear in court.

Police were also investigating Monday morning three other shootings that occurred along New Bern Avenue within the span of a couple of hours of the shooting near WakeMed, but it was unclear Monday morning whether they were related.

One happened outside a convenience store at 1830 New Bern Ave. Another happened near the intersection of New Bern Ave. and Trawick Road. Police said the third occurred in the parking lot of the Black Tie Nightlife at 3201 New Bern Ave.

Three people were injured in those shootings, police said. It did not appear that their injuries were life-threatening.

Police have not charged anyone in the four shootings.
