Man charged after two-county police pursuit
Frank Reginol Gaddy faces charges felony speeding to elude arrest and assault with a deadly weapon for "intentionally attempting to cause the officer to crash his patrol vehicle," according to arrest warrants.
Posted — UpdatedThe chase started shortly before 3 a.m., when police spotted Gaddy in the vicinity of Buck Jones and Jones Franklin roads driving a car that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a shooting near WakeMed on New Bern Avenue. There were no reports of injuries in the shooting.
Multiple law enforcement agencies pursued Gaddy through Cary, back into Raleigh and into Holly Springs, police said. Authorities put down stop sticks on Old U.S. Highway 1, near the Chatham County line to stop him about an hour after the chase began.
Three people were injured in those shootings, police said. It did not appear that their injuries were life-threatening.
Police have not charged anyone in the four shootings.
