Durham, N.C. — A murder suspect wanted in an October shooting on North Hyde Park Avenue has turned himself in, Durham police said Wednesday.
Police charged Marcus D. Cox, 21, with murder in the shooting death of Lamont Monty Brandon Jr., 19. According to police, a man shot at Brandon and Way Holloway, 25, as they rode a moped on North Hyde Park Avenue Oct. 14.
Brandon, who was shot in the torso, was taken to Duke University Hospital where he died. Holloway was treated for a gunshot wound to the hand.
Alton Dewayne “Popeye” Sanders, 24, is also charged him with murder in the case.
