Raleigh mother accused of leaving child home alone

Raleigh, N.C. — A Raleigh mother is accused of leaving her 2-year-old child home alone for four hours Sunday.

Loretta Lynn Watson, 29, of 121 Gilbert Ave., has been charged with child neglect, police said.

According to the arrest warrant, Watson left the child unattended from 12:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Watson was being held under a $1,500 bond at the Wake County Jail.

I don't even care what her excuse is or was. She is unfit to be a mother and hopefully she will not retain custody. How absolutely unbelievable that she would abandon her baby.

When is the child abuse going to stop?! These stories are so heartbreaking. I hope this child (and her other children) find some stability soon.

2beach4u - I agree. We have to take a class and pass a test and go back every few years to get a license, but we can actually create other human lives to screw up with absolutely no training and no one to answer to.

People should have to be granted to have children. There should be a board that you have to go before and be granted to have children. You should have to be married and be very stable in life with lots of proof. You should be able to support the child with no help from the state. If you can't pass this criteria, you should not be able to have a child. It's terrible that I have to feel like this but people are constantly abusing children, leaving them home alone, etc. These poor children don't ask for this and surely don't deserve it. May God bless them and continue to watch over them.
