Two people shot near Raleigh's New Bern Avenue

One person was shot in the arm and the other in the leg at about 4 p.m. along the 100 block of Fisher Street, a Raleigh police spokesman said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Officers were investigating a double shooting Wednesday afternoon near New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.

One person was shot in the arm and the other in the leg just before 4 p.m. along the 100 block of Fisher Street, Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

One of the victims ran over to Pettigrew Street after being shot. Officers blocked off streets around the area for a short time to collect evidence.

Paramedics transported the victims by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The names of the victims were not released.
