After the investigation, this alleged officer needs 5 years in prison. This is a shame to the community and his family. I would bet now he is sober. He needs help and should never be allowed to work as a police office ever again. Professor May 8, 2009 3:37 p.m. Report abuse

And that means that Bill Clinton should never have another chance in politics???

No Coack K, if you read ALL the psts you would have seen that the story stated they were on their way back to the station after a trainig class. Figures I would get this kind of response from a Duke fan. Journey985 GOLO member since October 21, 2008 May 8, 2009 3:16 p.m. Report abuse

You still didn't answer my question. Do you have a record? Duke fan and proud of it.

My major concern when anything like this happens is that in a court of law a LEO's word is trusted above that of a non-LEO in almost all cases. How many examples of corrupt LEOs do we have to see before the courts understand that the accused's testimony is equally reliable to that of an officer?

Of course, this is not true in all cases - there are always extenuating circumstances. If a citizen was driving drunk with a BAC test entered as evidence then clearly their testimony cannot be considered as trustworthy as the arresting officer.

I respect LEOs, I really do. They put their lives on the line constantly. But I know some personally who are far from the most scrupulous of citizens. I cringe to think of the number of people who have been unfairly fined and imprisoned using only the testimony of an officer as evidence that a crime had been committed.

Then again maybe he should be an example to other police and rot in prison. Think about it. How about it "teacher?"

How many of you would lose your job (and career for that matter) for a DUI?

When these people are dring to the access they are not thinking and no one can tell them anything. They won't see it until they are arrested and have lost their job.
