Car into house

A Raleigh woman was dealing Wednesday with a hit-and-run – at her house.

Mae Smith said a car slammed into her house at 437 Solar Drive, off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, shortly after she had left for work. A neighbor called her to tell her of the damage to her brick house.

The car, which the neighbor described as a brown Monte Carlo, crashed through the wall of her bedroom, Smith said.

"My first thought ... is just imagine how fast they must have been driving. Thank God there was nobody in the yard or nobody here or I was at home," she said.

The car sped off after the incident, and police were searching Wednesday for the vehicle and the driver. The neighbor said the car didn't have a license plate.

Thank God no one in the house was hurt.

Praying they find the perp though, shouldn't be too hard. There must be a lot of damage, and brown Monte Carlos aren't that plentiful on the streets of Raleigh.

God bless.

So, the car took over from its hapless driver, drove into a house. and then speed away from the scene leaving its owner trapped in the car? Are you sure it wasn't an SUV? Usually the media reports it as the vehicle of intrest in such a story.

A ford wouldnt be fast enough to damage a house

I can't believe it still ran after that. Hope they catch the person.

Who says GM doesn't build durable cars?
