Raleigh, N.C. — A Fuquay-Varina woman was arrested this week on charges that she took indecent liberties with a 14-year-old boy.
Authorities issued arrest warrants for Tangela Lavelle Griffin, in December, charging her with one count of statutory rape and one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor. The alleged offenses occurred in October, warrants indicated.
According to the North Carolina Department of Correction, Griffin, 30, was on two years' probation for attempted food stamp fraud and was listed as an absconder prior to her arrest Thursday.
She was in jail Saturday under a $1 million bond on the statutory rape charge, $30,000 on a probation violation charge and $5,000 on a charge of obtaining property by false pretenses.
