Durham, N.C. — A driver clipped a Durham police cruiser early Friday and kept going, a police spokeswoman said.
Sgt. G.C. Zeipekkis, was writing a ticket at a traffic stop near North Roxboro Road and Bon Anir Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m. when the car hit the side mirror of his vehicle.
Zeipekkis was not hurt, and was able to stop the vehicle on East Hammond Street.
Zeipekkis arrested the driver, Tomas Rangel-Marabillas, 23, and charged him with driving while impaired, no operator's license and resisting, delaying and obstructing officers. A passenger, Alejandro Aparicio Duran, was charged with resisting, delaying and obstructing officers.
