Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a woman on murder charges Thursday after a man who was shot on Grantland Drive Wednesday night died.
Investigators said that Kenneth Wayne Battle Jr., 23, was shot while standing outside in the 700 block of Grantland Drive, and a passerby drove him to WakeMed. Battle died of his injuries.
Police connected a "shots fired" call to 911 around 8:15 p.m. to Battle's death and charged Dana Danielle Hudson, 19, with murder.
Police detectives and State Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Hudson without incident at a Wake Forest apartment Thursday.
The case remains under investigation, police said.
Anyone with information about the homicide was asked to call Raleigh police at 919-996-3555 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME (2746). Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in certain felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
